ABOUT ME

Oh my! Where do I start? First of all, I chose the above image because I think the woman is so lovely and truly wish I look like her! But since this site is about fantasy and escape from reality, why not choose such a lovely image? Though I am beyond my 50th birthday, it is my hope that I can strive to portray such loveliness from the inside.

My husband, Mike, and I have raised five children; all grown and on their own now, except for our youngest who will be finishing High School next year. We're all New Hampshire natives and have lived here all our lives. Though the winters can be harsh, it truly is a beautiful place to live. We moved into our first house about 12 years ago—a fixer-upper, as they call it; but the property is absolutely gorgeous. We have about 2-1/2 acres of land that is filled with trees of all kinds: fruit, evergreens, birches, maples, chestnuts, and then some. The former owners sold perennials to earn extra money, so from early March until late October the property is filled with color from blossoms and flowers. And with that comes a large variety of birds, butterflies, and lots of little critters who've made their homes here.

In addition to all this wildlife, we have our own pets: 5 cats and 3 large dogs. Chewie is our oldest dog at age 10 and is a German Shepherd/Pitbull mix. In 2006, we rescued Hugo, a one-year-old Siberian Husky and our life has never been the same! I have become smitten with the breed! In November 2008, we adopted Klondike, our second Siberian Husky, and if I weren't so frail because of health issues, I would have more! I plan to write more about the Husky breed for I have learned so much about them. They are very wolf-like, and the study of wolves has helped me to understand the behaviour of these beautiful dogs.

My early years were filled with the normal day-to-day routines of a young wife and mother, as well as dabbling in art—pencil drawings, mostly; and studying classical piano. Beethoven's deep, emotional compositions are what drove me to further my studies. It was my dream to learn his Piano Concerto #5 (The Emperor), however I never attained that dream. Along with all these studies, I went to college, taking night classes, and earned my Accounting degree and worked as a Corporate Accountant until 1995. That was when my constant pain and exhaustion was given a name: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I was later diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, too. At first, I embraced the opportunity to be a stay-at-home-Mom, and was able to look at the bright side of the illness. However, as time went on and the illness got progressively worse, I began to lose sight of those blessings. As the children grew up and left my home to begin lives of their own, I felt all those "empty-nest" feelings, and have had to find other ways to feel productive. That was when I purchased my first computer and found a whole new world in the Internet community!

I have learned so much during the past 10 years and have met many wonderful people; people I would have never come to know and love if it hadn't been for this online experience. I have learned how to code webpages using HTML, though I have to admit that the more advanced ways of coding pages is currently beyond my comprehension. Digital graphic creations have helped me to unleash a lot of the creativity that had been stifled for so long. I also learned how to create 3-D graphics to be used as custom content in some of my PC games. Though I am homebound, I once again feel part of the vast world beyond the lovely views from my window.

When I'm offline, I enjoy watching movies and do have a few favorite television programs to keep me entertained. I've always been an avid reader, but having only discovered the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien in 2002, I have immersed myself in his writings since. I still don't have all of his books as of yet, but I plan to add to my collection. I do enjoy reading the poetry of Robert Frost, too. I've also discovered a love for PC Gaming and play RPG games such as Baldur's Gate, Morrowind, and Oblivion as well as strategy games such as The Battle For Middle-earth. The one game I tend to play the most, though, is The Sims2. I plan to share some of my custom creations here for those of you who are fellow SIMS 2 fans! PC Gaming is one of the few ways that I can lose myself and forget the pain and fatigue for a little while. And on that note, I'm off to play a game or two!
